The 17th, 18th and 19th of November, Corsica 2026

The Symposium on the Application of Biotechnology to the Development and Improvement of the Citrus Industry

We are pleased to welcome you to the V International Symposium on Citrus Biotechnology, which will be held in Bastia, Corsica, France, from November 17 to 19, 2026.

The event is organized by the AGAP Institute research unit (INRAECIRAD / INRAE Centre of Corsica) under the aegis of the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS). It aims to foster scientific dialogue, strengthen international collaborations, and promote innovation within the citrus research community.

The symposium will take place in Biguglia, a small town located about 15 minutes by train from Bastia, where the recommended hotels are situated. The railway connection provides convenient and direct access between the accommodation area and the symposium venue.

The International Symposium on Citrus Biotechnology (ISCB) has been organized by the ISHS since 1998. The first ISCB took place in Eilat, Israel by the efforts of PhD. R. Goren and PhD. E. E. Goldschmidt. The second International Symposium was held in Catania, Italy in 2009 organized by of PhD. A. Gentile and PhD. E. Tribulato. The third Symposium was held in Shizuoka, Japan in 2014 coordinated by PhD. Shimizu and PhD. Tominaga. The fourth ISCB was held in Canelones (Uruguay) in 2018 with PhD Fernando Rivas as convener.

We look forward to welcoming you to the unique setting of Corsica for three days of stimulating scientific discussions and networking.

Corsica is honored to host the International Symposium on Citrus Biotechnology, bringing together researchers, professionals, and stakeholders from around the world to explore the latest advances in citrus science and innovation.

At a time when citrus production faces unprecedented challenges — from emerging diseases and climate change to sustainability and genetic resource preservation — biotechnology stands as a key lever for anticipation, resilience, and progress. This symposium provides a unique platform to share scientific knowledge, foster interdisciplinary dialogue, and strengthen collaborations across continents.

Rooted in the Mediterranean, Corsica offers a particularly meaningful setting for this international gathering. The island has a long-standing tradition in citrus cultivation and research, closely linking science, agriculture, and territory. Hosting this symposium here reflects both a scientific commitment and a strong connection to real-world agricultural challenges.

Through keynote lectures, oral presentations, posters, and dedicated exchanges, the symposium aims to highlight cutting-edge research, innovative tools, and forward-looking strategies that will shape the future of citrus biotechnology.

We warmly welcome all participants and look forward to inspiring discussions, fruitful collaborations, and a shared vision for the future of citrus research.
